I have no great sense on art especially sketching.

So, I always practice before I draw onto the submission paper.

** Project 8 **

~~~~~ LAST PROJECT IN SEM 1 ~~~~~~

* Performance and award night *

'The Lost Kingdom' is the theme for the night

We were required to have costumes based on the kingdom given to every major

and the kingdom we got was 'Majapahit' with the theme colour of RED

Due to our performance which is dancing,

we decided to combine our performance and main costume into one.

We went to Kamdar to buy red cloths

and there we got the idea to decorate our costume from the display model 

Thanks to Nalayani, who found a great dance tutor named Jerry, a student of Education.

We trained very hard for the dance until some of us got sick.

But we still put our full effort for this last studio project~

Less than 5 hours of rest,

we started to prepare for the night with make-up and dressing.

Since the costume was inspired by me,

then I help the girls to pin up the red cloths to made it into a beautiful dress

and my friend help to dress up for the boys

After rushing with the time,

finally the event started.

We marched in according to majors/kingdoms as the grand open ceremony for this event

Me and my course mates were so excited throughout the whole event.

There are a lot of awards were given out to the students.

First prize we got was 2nd place for the banner for exhibition day.

Unexpectedly, we also got the BEST COSTUME and BEST KING awards!!!!

This is my first time help to dressing up with only cloths and pins.

Great start, great experience I got~

This is the MOST ENJOYABLE studio project ever!

It marks an end to our first semester in year 1

** Project 7 **

Here is the time for us to present our project works to the public!!!

Dr. Mastura Jaafar and Ms. Amelia chosen some of the projects among the Quantity Surveying's students for the 'XZHIBTION DAY'

We were given the theme named 'floating lines' to decorate our exhibition booth and also banner

Only 3 days and 3 nights time for us to complete everything

Staying up in late midnight is normal in HBP

and of course for this project

The second night was the toughest night for this project

We take turn to sleep in the car

and it goes until the next morning

Then, we continue our works after taking breakfast

Finally it is the time for us to sleep in afternoon

then, work still goes on

After 3 days and 3 nights time,

our baby exhibition booth was finally exhibited!

Preparation for exhibition

All the lecturers and Dean of HBP came to the open ceremony of the 'XZHIBITION DAY'.

Redha, the chairman of the 'XZHIBITION DAY' and also some of the committees accompany and give some brief explanation to the lecturers and Dean of HBP

I am glad that some of my 'babies' had been chosen to publish in the exhibition~

This had indirectly built up my self-confidence regarding to my works

Here are some pictures shows the atmosphere of the first day of exhibition day

** Project 6(c) **

After the awesome get-away,

we are now back to the reality life for HBP student

In 2 weeks time, we need to build our amphitheatre stage which had been design in project 6(a)

Me, as a Quantity Surveying's student required to do the costing reports and also control the financial status of our 'company'

Each of us need to pay RM40 as the capital for the model

and I tried my best to control the cost to be remain in our budget.

This is a BIG project which was costly and time consuming

Due to our 'special' design of column which is slanted,

we tried a lot of ways to strengthen the column as support for the whole model.

FINALLY, the roof did not collapse!!!

We stayed up at the studio until early morning for almost everyday just to make this happen.

So, here we go~

~Our hard work did paid off~

Thanks to this harsh project which bonded our friendships

Nice experience with great group mates !!!

~BONUS~ **Academic Trip to Langkawi **

We were excited when Dr. Hafizal first told us that we will be having a studio academic trip to Langkawi which was held on 23-25/11/2013, after the submission of project 6(a) and 6(b).

It was a great release for all of us since we had stay overnight at studio for the previous project almost every night.

Let me recall what we have done at the trip~

~~**FLASHBACK**~~

The very first day, we departed from Kuala Perlis Jetty after gathered at Padang Kawad, USM.

It was not the first time I boarded on ferry but I felt dizzy after reached at Langkawi Island.

After we taken our lunch, we moved to Dataran Lang for the first activity : 

Man-made structure sketching

Most of the students chose the landmark of Langkawi : Eagle Square, but me and my friends had chosen a bridge connected from Dataran Lang to the Jetty for our man-made structure sketching. 

I not sure that is my sketching was alright since I used pencil colours in my man-made structure drawing.

We were then accommodate to different villa/homestay and I were arranged to stay at Rainbow Homestay with other Chinese girls.

Time to take a nap and ready for the BBQ party at night along the coast

While waiting for the food to be served, we grouped according to majors for a sharing session with lecturers.

Then, we discuss about performance session which will be held after dinner.

Around 10pm, finally our foods are ready!!!!!

Regarding to the performance, QS students and CM students had a dancing performance which got 'BOOOOO' from the lecturers~ How sad =(

Second day,

we went to Dayang Bunting Island, Singa Besar Island and lastly the Beras Basah Island.

We were requested to have our Natural Structure Sketching at Beras Basah Island

and I chose coconut tree for my drawing

* P/S: Due to the submission, I could not show my sketching here 

We left the island around 2pm and have the famous chicken rice in Langkawi as our lunch.

Then, is time for Telematch.

There are few games for the Telematch:

1) Futsal with sarong attire

2) 2 men 3 foots

3) Make-up

LAST DAY,

we went to LADA, Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi for a brief talk about the role and contribution of LADA

We were then served with Nasi Lemak as our lunch before we move to the next destination - Gunung Mat Cincang

It is a beautiful place with a lot of eye-catching sceneries

Cable car is the main/only transport to the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang

Then, we gathered at the foot hill around 1.15pm

Last activity, SHOPPING~~~~

We moved to Billion Supermarket, a paradise for CHOCOLATE ADDICTS

1 hour time for shopping, and here is what me and my friends bought

Then, is time to BACK =(

This trip is a great get-away for me and I felt released and did not felt depressed at least for 3 days which is meaningful enough for me

~Hoping for the next academic trip~

** Project 6(a) **

This is the first project to us that we need to work with every 7 major in HBP 

This project involved 16 of us and it takes us one and a half month time

Firstly,

we need to do site analysis, planning, design and presentation drawing 

on four A1 paper in 4 weeks time

Lesson learned in this project:

1. Communication skills 

--> Since all of us are from different ethnic, background, attitude, working style and others.

2. Time management

--> Other than project, we have many other works too. 

Arranging time to finish work on time is very important. 

Other than that,

be punctual is also another lesson in time management.

3. Responsibility

--> Sometimes, we will feel lazy and stressed

but we still need to complete the works given to us.

4. Teamwork

--> When we finish our own work, we should help our teammates on their work too.

This is the most scary projects ever~

because it was a BIG and INDIVIDUAL project

On the weekend before submission,

we need to go for an apartment stays at Batu Ferringgi

After that, me and my friend burned midnight oil on the Sunday night until Monday morning

The very first time I slept only for 30 minutes 0.o
